Ultrasound & Imaging
Our imaging suite provides safe, radiation-free ultrasound scanning for pregnancy, abdominal, pelvic and soft-tissue assessment. Scans are performed on modern equipment and reported by clinicians who will sit down and explain what the images show.
What to expect
- 1
A short check-in at reception where we confirm your details and medical aid.
- 2
The scan itself, usually 15–30 minutes, performed in a private room.
- 3
A warm gel is applied to the skin and a handheld probe moves across the area — it is painless.
- 4
Your images are reviewed and the findings explained to you before you leave.
- 5
A written report is prepared for you or sent directly to your referring doctor.
What this includes
- Obstetric (pregnancy) ultrasound — dating, growth and wellbeing scans
- Abdominal ultrasound — liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas, spleen
- Pelvic and gynaecological ultrasound
- Renal and bladder scanning for our dialysis and kidney-care patients
- Soft-tissue, thyroid and superficial structure scans
- Doppler studies for blood-flow assessment
How to prepare
- Abdominal scans: avoid eating for 6 hours before your appointment.
- Pelvic and pregnancy scans: arrive with a comfortably full bladder.
- Bring any referral letter, previous scans or reports you may have.
